28 Britsoc members enjoyed a fine walk through the beautiful vineyards of the Penedés to where Paddy had the calçots on the bbq. After downing both calçots and porrón in traditional style, the troop headed back to a fine feast of meats, botifarra, choizo, salads etc. and, of course, more wine, before the dancing started. Maureen and Clive Callaghan introduced us to the delights of the lesser-known Penedes Wines. We were given tips on how to savour these wines and cava and what to serve them. At the end of the evening, no-one went home empty handed - it must have been odd to see so many people leave the IWC at 11pm on a Monday, wandering into the night to the sound of clunking bottles! A typically Scottish Burns Night supper was enjoyed by over 60 Britsoc members at the Hilton. The traditional bill of fare of cock-a-leekie soup, haggis, mashed potatoes and swede was washed down with plenty of whisky! Read More 
The first BSC Golf Trophy was hotly contested among the 13 entrants at the Sant Joan course in Rubí. Designed by Severiano Ballesteros, although public, Sant Joan is one of the most challenging courses in Catalunya. The scores reflected this! Read More 
A celebration of the 25th anniversary of the British Society and the Centenary of the founding of the British Club was held at the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona. Read More

A new experience was enjoyed by the 26 members and guests who attended the Harvest Grape Crush at the Loxarel Winery in the Penedés. Read More
